  RULES FOR SELECTION AND ADMISSION  
 

These rules called "Rules for Selection & Admissions to Post-Graduate courses" are framed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Deemed University. The admisions to P.G. courses in various medical subjects in Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, a constituent college of the Vidyapeeth, shall be done as per these Rules. The Appropriate Authority & the Competent Authority have been established for conduct of PG AIET and Selection & Admission process.

These rules are applicable for All India Entrance Test for Post-Graduate courses and for provisional admission to post graduate courses for the current year. No promise or expectations are implied thereon for subsequent years.
Court Jurisdiction - Any legal matters arising out of the admission procedure of the PG courses through All India Entrance Test of Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, (Deemed University) , will be under the jurisdiction of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pune.

 
     
  DEFINITIONS  
 
  1. Appropriate Authority means The Vice Chancellor Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed University), Pimpri, Pune-18.
  2. Appropriate Institution means Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth's Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune 18, where the Post Graduate courses in medical faculty are available.
  3. Competent Authority means the authority appointed by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Dr. D. Y. Vidyapeeth (Deemed University), Pimpri, Pune-18 for the purpose of conducting PG AIET and for selection and admission process for Post Graduate courses for the year 2005. Competent Authority will solely control and monitor the selection process as per the rules. The Competent Authority will look after implementation of Post Graduate entrance rules and provide information regarding the same. The Competent Authority will decide the time bound programme of the selection process.
  4. Course means a Post Graduate Degree Course of 3 years duration or a Diploma course of 2 years duration in a subject of medical faculty.
  5. Internship means 12 months' compulsory rotating internship after passing the MBBS examination as per norms laid down by the Medical Council of India.
  6. Post Graduate Entrance Cell means a cell constituted by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed University) for conducting the Entrance Test for the selection purpose for Post Graduate courses.
  7. Recognised qualification means the Degree obtained from any Medical college or institution in India, recognised by the Medical Council of India.
  8. Registration means registration of MBBS qualification with the State Medical Council / Medical Council of India after completion of internship.
  9. Post Graduate Teacher means a Medical teacher recognised as Post Graduate Teacher by the University / Medical Council of India.
 
  ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA  
 
  1. The candidates, who possess Indian Nationality, with a proof in the form of Nationality Certificate / valid passport, are eligible to appear for PG AIET.
    NRI candidates, who have passed from MCI recognised medical colleges, are also eligible for PG AIET Examination.
  2. The candidates, who have passed final MBBS examination from a recognised medical college, included in the schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, are eligible.
    The candidates should have obtained registration either from Medical Council of India or authorised State Medical Council after completing one-year compulsory rotating internship. Such candidates will be considered eligible.
  3. The candidates, who are still undergoing one-year compulsory rotating internship or are likely to complete it by 31st March, will be permitted to appear for PG AIET. His / Her selection will be subject to completion of compulsory rotating internship of one year and registration before 15th April. He / She will have to submit documentary evidence from the Principal / Dean of the college regarding the anticipated date of completion of internship along with the application, failing which, his /her application shall be rejected.
 
  SELECTION PROCEDURE  
 
  1. The provisional selection for the Post Graduate courses will be done on the basis of merit in the Post Graduate All India Entrance Test (PG AIET).
  2. Candidates must obtain 50% marks or more at PG AIET .
  3. The theory paper will be of 300 marks for 300 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 3 ½ hours duration. Each MCQ will be objective type and have a single best response, with four answer options. Each correct answer will get one mark.
  4. There is no negative marking system.
 
  CONDUCT OF PG AIET  
 
  • All the candidates shall attend PG AIET at their own cost.
  • The PG AIET shall be conducted in Dr. D.Y.Patil Vidyapeeth's Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, Pune - 411018.
  • The candidate shall not bring cellular phones, pagers, calculators, etc. in the examination hall.
  • No marks will be assigned where there is overwriting, scratching, double marking, or multiple answers.
 
  SCHEME OF TEST  
  The PG AIET will be of MBBS examination standard and will cover all the subjects of MBBS. The subject wise distribution of MCQs will be as follows:

  VERIFICATION OF MARKS  
 

There will not be any rechecking of paper or verification of marks of the PG AIET .

 
     
  RESULT AND MERIT LIST  
 
  1. The Competent Authority will conduct the PG AIET and the result and prepare the mark-list.
  2. The merit list will be displayed on Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth's Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College Notice Board on 14.02.2005 and will also be available on website at www.dypatilvidyapeeth.org.
    TIE-BREAK FOR EQUAL MARKS
    If there is a tie between two or more candidates having equal marks at PG AIET -

    A> The candidate, having higher aggregate marks in I + II + III MBBS examination, will be preferred.
    B>
    If the tie still presist, then the candidate having more marks in the final year examination of the MBBS course will be preferred.
    C> If the tie still presist, then the candidate having more marks in the subject of his/her choice for PG course,, will be preferred.
 
  COUNSELLING AND ADMISSIONS  
 

As per the merit list, the candidates will be called for Counselling and Admission on 15.03.2005 & 16.03.2005 at 11.30 a.m. onwards at the Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth's Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Pimpri, Pune, by the Competent Authority. Counselling will be done by Competent Authority and subject experts.

The selected candidates will have to join the course on or before 07.04.2005. The admissions will be done on provisional basis. The candidates have to give an undertaking for completion of the course and have to get Eligibility Certificate from the University. Students shall submit the Eligibility form at the time of joining the course. Relevant information is to be filled in the Eligibility form and necessary documents as mentioned in the form along with xerox copies shall be attached. Original documents will be duly returned to the candidate after completion of the admission procedure.

  • Demand Draft of the amount of fees shall be drawn on any nationalised bank, payable at Pune and favouring "Dean, Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College".
  • Eligibility and Registration fee, as prescribed by the Vidyapeeth, shall be paid by the student separately at the time of filing eligibility application.
  • 50 % seats are reserved for Management Quota.
  • Other conditions and formalities will be as per rules of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed University)
 
  SUBSEQUENT SELECTION ROUND  
  The notification will be published on web-site and displayed on Vidyapeeth's notice board for the subsequent selection round, to be conducted by the Competent Authority for those vacant seats, where candidates have not joined.  
     
  INSTRUCTION TO CANDIDATES  
 
  1. The Test Booklet and ICR Answer Sheets are issued seperately at the start of the test.
  2. Candidate shall carefully read the instructions printed on the Test Booklet and Answer Sheet and make correct entries on the Answer Sheet . As Answer Sheets are designed to suit the COMPUTERISED ASSESSMENT SYSTEM, special care should be taken to mark correct entries.
    Enter the TEST BOOKLET CODE and PG AIET ROLL number accurately. The correctness of entries has to be cross- checked by the invigilators.
  3. Choice and sequence for attempting questions will be as per the convenience of the candidate.
  4. Determine the correct response from out of the four available options given for each question.
  5. For answering the particular question, darken the appropriate circle in the answersheet completely like this by using Black Ball Point pen.
  6. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one (1) mark. No mark shall be awarded in case of marking two or more answers, scratching, overwriting.
  7. Rough work should be done only on the blank space provided on the Test Booklet, Rough work should not be done anywhere on the Answer Sheet.
  8. Printed log-tables containing LOG, ANTI- LOG, SIN, COS, TAN & SQUARE ROOTS only are permitted. But log tables with Conversion tables, Formulae, Calculators, Cellular phones, Pagers or any other electronic gadgets are not permitted in the examination hall.
  9. Immediately after the prescribed test time is over, the Answer Sheet and the Test Booklet are to be returned to the Invigilator. Confirm that the Test Booklet and the Answer Sheet bear the signatures of yourself and the Invigilator.
  10. No candidate shall be allowed to leave the examination hall till the test is over and all the Answer sheets & Test Booklets in the examination are collected by Invigilator
